Terms of use
Plain-language version. Last updated October 20, 2026.
This is a small, early-stage project, and these terms are written to be read, not just filed away. By using recast you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. Who can use this
You need to be at least 18 (or the age of legal majority where you live, if older) and able to form a binding contract. Don't use recast if crypto payments or AI-generated media are restricted or illegal where you are — that's on you to check.
2. Your wallet, your funds
recast doesn't custody your crypto. Wallets are provided through our embedded-wallet provider; you're responsible for keeping access to it. We can't recover funds sent to the wrong address, and we can't reverse a confirmed onchain transaction — nobody can.
3. Photos and video you upload
You're responsible for everything you upload. By uploading a photo or video, you're confirming:
- You own it, or have the legal right to use it this way.
- If it shows a real person who isn't you, you have their clear permission to use their likeness to generate AI video with it. Don't upload photos of someone else — a public figure, a stranger, an ex, anyone — without their consent. This is the one rule we take most seriously.
- It doesn't depict a minor in any sexual or exploitative context, under any circumstances.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use recast to generate or distribute: non-consensual intimate imagery of anyone; content sexualizing minors; content meant to defraud, harass, or impersonate someone to deceive; or anything illegal where you or the people depicted live. We use an automated content filter and it will block some renders — that's expected behavior, not a bug.
5. Label your output
Every render requires you to confirm you'll post it with a clear AI-generated label before you post it anywhere. That's a condition of using the service, not just a checkbox.
6. Payments and pricing
Renders are priced per second of output and shown before you pay. Payment happens onchain — once a transaction confirms, it's final; we don't do cash refunds. If a render fails outright (blocked by the content filter, a service error, etc.) its cost is automatically credited back to your account balance, spendable on your next render. Prices, supported payment assets, and any discount for paying in $CASTcan change at any time.
7. $CAST isn't an investment
$CAST is a utility token for using recast — it's not a security, isn't sold as one, and nothing here or anywhere else on this site is investment advice. It may still be pre-graduation, thinly traded, and its price can move a lot or go to zero. Don't treat holding it as a promise of anything.
8. What you own
You own the videos you generate, subject to the rights of whoever's actually depicted in them (see §3). We need a license to store, process, and display your uploads and outputs in order to run the service — that's it, we're not claiming ownership of your content.
9. No guarantees
recast is provided as-is. We rely on third-party infrastructure (the AI render engine, the blockchain, wallet and payment providers) that we don't control, and things will occasionally break, queue up, or go down. We don't promise uptime, a specific render quality, or that any feature described in the docs ships on any particular timeline.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows it, recast isn't liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or lost crypto value arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn't allow limiting it.
11. Account termination
We can suspend or close access for anyone who breaks these terms, especially §3 and §4. You can stop using the app any time — your wallet is yours either way.
12. Changes
We'll update this page as the product changes. Continuing to use recast after an update means you accept the new version.
